Westport House

Westport House and Pirate Adventure Park is one of the top destinations to visit for any visitors to Westport. The beautiful historic house was built in the 18th century and is surrounded by beautifully manicured gardens, a lake, and wonderful views of Clew Bay.

It was privately owned by the Browne family, who are direct descendants of Pirate Queen, Grace O’Malley. Westport House is built on the foundations of the ruins of one of her several castles. An area of the original castle ruins is still on show in the ‘dungeon’ of the House. The House also boasts several architecturally stunning rooms, with original content. Guided tours are available of the House, making it a ‘must see’ for visitors.

The Pirate Adventure Park has activities for everyone, including the Pirates Plunge Log Flume Ride, Swan Pedaloe Boats on the lake, the Pirates Den indoor soft play and a host of other activities for the family to enjoy.
