Booking Terms & Conditions for
The Hostel
At Croagh Patrick Hostel & Cottages Resort

A booking deposit of 25% of the total rate of the cost of the hostel booking will be required upon reservation

No invoice or letter of confirmation can be dispatched to you until the booking deposit has been received.

Croagh Patrick Hostel & Cottages reserves the right to request full payment for bookings for special events or festivals at the time of booking. If this is applicable on-line customers will be contacted after an on-line booking is made to pay the balance of the booking deposit required. Callers who book via our reservations department will be required to pay the increased booking deposit at the point of booking.

Booking Deposit:

The booking deposit – 25% o the full amount of the booking is payable when making an online reservation.

If making a booking over the phone or via the contact form, your 25% booking deposit will be collected by our reservations team.

Balance of Payment:

The balance payment of the hostel accommodaion (after the booking deposit) or full payment (if no deposit paid) will be paid upon check in

For Group Bookings the full balance payment will be required 1 week prior to arrival (upon confirmation of the group’s final numbers).  The reservations office will be in contact with the booking lead one week prior to the arrival date for the final numbers and to collect the balance payment.

Change to a Group  Booking:

In the event of you wishing to make a change to your booking after the cancellation period has expired, should we be able to facilitate, there will be an administration charge of €100 on your booking. If we facilitate you in any such change, your right to a subsequent refund under our cancellation terms is no longer applicable.  Also, new rates may apply depending on new dates selected.

Covid 19 Travel Restrictions and/or Level 5 Lockdown: 

Where Irish Government guidelines advise against any unnecessary travel in Ireland for people living in certain counties in Ireland, the onus lies with the guest(s) to ensure they are compliant with any applicable guidelines and whether they should proceed with their booking with us.  Where a guest makes the decision not to travel to their accommodation because of such advice, Croagh Patrick Hostel & Cottages will not be in a position to issue a refund however other options may be available and will be treated on a case by case basis.

If Croagh Patrick Hostel and Cottages are unable to provide the accommodation on the dates booked because of closure enforced due to Level 5 lockdown either in our county or nationally, the guest will be offered to move their dates to alternative dates and will be allowed to carry forward their amounts paid so far for the accommodation to the new dates within 12 months.

Method of Payment:

We accept payment by Debit or Credit Card,  Bank Transfer, Bank Draft, Cheque or Cash Payments.

Cancellation Policy:

In the event that you wish to cancel your hostel reservation (those reservations booked directly with us or through our website), the following charges will apply:

-Free cancellation of bookings cancelled up to 48 hours before 3pm on the arrival date.  Cancellations after this time will be charged at the cost of the first night’s stay.

-Non Refundable Rate bookings will not be refunded if cancelled.

-Group Bookings are not refundable if cancelled upto 1 week before 3pm on the arrival date.

On all reservations:  Booking deposit is withheld except where cancellation made within 24 hours of making the booking.

Cancellation of an Agent Booking:

Any hostel accommodation reservations made through a third party agent will be governed by the cancellation terms of that particular agent.  Please liaise directly with the agent to advise them of cancellation and they in turn inform us.

Major Changes to Your Holiday:

Occasionally, we have to make major changes to the price or accommodation making up your stay with us. If we tell you about any of these changes after we have confirmed your holiday booking, you may either:

  1. Accept the new arrangements offered by us; or
  2. Cancel your holiday with us and receive a full refund of all monies paid.

Force Majeure:

If as a consequence of “Force Majeure”, Croagh Patrick Hostel & Cottages is forced to curtail, alter or cancel a holiday, we will allow you to carry forward amounts paid for Accommodation to another date within 12 months of your booked holiday.

However, the client shall not be at liberty to maintain a claim for compensation or otherwise arising as a consequence of the said curtailment, alteration or cancellation of the stay. 

In these terms and conditions the term Force Majeure shall mean Acts of God, natural disasters, adverse weather conditions, fire, epidemics, health risks, destruction or damage to holiday accommodation, water or electricity supply issues, riots, acts of civil war, civil commotion, requisition of property, insolvency or default of any provider of the accommodation, delays due to construction, or any other reason or event which Croagh Patrick Hostel & Cottages even with all due care, could not foresee or forestall.

Mandatory Security Deposit:

A minimum refundable security deposit of €20 per person is required for all groups in excess of 5 persons.  This must be paid upon check-in. At certain times of the year or depending on circumstances this can increase to €50 per person. Refusal or inability to pay this at check-in is grounds for us cancelling the booking without out any refund of any monies paid to date.

All security deposits will be paid in cash upon arrival and refunded upon departure providing the on-site Manager is satisfied that the terms and conditions of rental have been complied with. Failure to leave the accommodation in a clean and tidy condition may result in the loss of all or part of your security deposit.

We reserve the right to charge an increased mandatory security deposit of €50 at certain times of the year for examples during festivals, during certain sporting events and New Year’s etc. You will be contacted about this prior to arrival. In the event that a customer does not wish to pay this security deposit we reserve the right to cancel their booking.

We reserve the right to hold onto the security deposit paid or part thereof in the event of excessive noise pollution caused by a group or parts of the group, which causes inconvenience to occupants of nearby rooms irrespective of whether any damage was caused to the room booked. We do not allow the staging of parties in the hostel rooms and reserve the right to withhold the security deposit if such an event is staged in our accommodation.  We are not a party house!!  Each person’s security deposit of a particular group goes to make up the entire security deposit of that group and will be treated as one deposit against that group’s booking.

Arrival & Departure Times:

Check In Time for Hostel  is between 3pm and 10pm

Check Out Time is upto 10.30am on the day of departure

Late Check Ins may be facilitated but only by prior arrangement and may incur a fee

Late Check outs may be facilitated upto 12 noon and a fee of €5 will apply.  However this late check out facility is subject to availability depending on the commitment of that room, therefore must be requested and paid for with reception at least the night before

Right to Decline:

Croagh Patrick Hostel reserves the right to refuse, alter or cancel a booking, even after receipt of final payment.

In addition, the company is relieved of all liability should the booked accommodation not be available due to circumstances beyond our control. In such an instance, alternative arrangements will be made in similar accommodation, or a full refund will be offered. However, no refund or liability will apply to a situation where a client is requested to vacate, or leaves of their own accord, prior to the expiration of the booking.

The Company reserves the right to decline a booking for reasons of been required to be in compliance with Government regulations regarding self isolation of Guests travelling from outside Ireland as the hostel is not suitable for self isolation purposes.

Behaviour:

Croagh Patrick Hostel reserves the right to terminate this contract if the behaviour or conduct of the consumer either prior to or during a stay is likely to endanger the safety or well-being of other consumers in the party or that of the consumer himself.

Pet Policy:

We have a No Pets Policy in our hostel.

Liability:

Croagh Patrick Hostel & Cottages, its employees or agents shall not be liable for any damages, loss, or personal injury which may be sustained by persons or property at any time during the reserved stay.

Car Parking:

There is limited onsite car parking available which is free of charge.  Parking is on a first come first served basis.  The Management accept no responsibility whatsoever for any loss or damage caused to any cars or its inhabitants whilst driving or parked on our premises.  Enter and park here solely at own risk.

Complaints:

In the unlikely event of a complaint, it should be brought to the attention of the On-site Manager immediately. Failure to register a complaint while on site may invalidate a future claim. Failing a satisfactory solution, you should contact Croagh Patrick Hostel and a written complaint should be logged within 14 days of departure.

Default by the Customer:

The consumer is obliged to ensure that all documentation and details issued to you by Croagh Patrick Hostel are correct. In an unlikely event that you do not agree with the documentation, it must be brought to our attention immediately.

Bed Linen & Towels:

Bed linen is supplied free of charge in our hostel.

Towels are not supplied, however can be rented a charge of €2.50 per towel.

Cots & Highchairs:

Travel Cots and highchairs are available free of charge but must be booked in advance. Cot linen is not provided. Cots and highchairs must be requested at the time of booking. If you wish to order a cot(s) and/or highchair(s) please contact us by dialling +353 (087) 4191953. 

Group Bookings:

Croagh Patrick Hostel does not accept bookings for the hostel from groups of parties under the age of 25, or hen/stag parties unless otherwise aagreed in writing by the management.

We reserve the right to refuse to check-in such groups and will not refund any monies paid in advance in the event of non-disclosure of the age of the occupants.

For group bookings, the refundable mandatory security deposit per person must be paid upon arrival to our reservation office. This will be refunded upon departure by our reservation office once the On-site Manager has confirmed to us that the rooms occupied were left in an acceptable condition. We reserve the right to charge an increased mandatory security deposit for larger group bookings.

Age Restrictions:

There is no Age Restriction for guests staying in the hostel,  however guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult and booked into private rooms only.

Confirmation of Bookings:

All bookings are subject to availability. In the unlikely event of us been unable to allocate you the room that you booked, you will be given the options of either accepting an offer of alternative accommodation of a similar standard, in a similar location or a full refund of all monies paid to us. In the event of you opting to take a refund, compensation will be limited to the amount of money we have received to date.

Gift Voucher:

Croagh Patrick Hostel & Cottages Gift Vouchers can only be used to book either hostel or cottages accommodation as listed on the Croagh Patrick Hostel & Cottages website – www.croaghpatrickhostelandcottages.ie .  Please contact us directly on 087 4191953 to book or submit an enquiry via our Contact Form on the website.

Online Bookings:

In the event your booking was made on our website (www.croaghpatrickhostelandcottages.ie) please note the email you receive on booking is not a final booking invoice. We reserve the right to decline such bookings up until we issue a final written invoice.

 Special Offer Terms & Conditions:

  • All special offers run independently of each other and cannot be used in conjunction with another offer for the same booking, therefore only one offer can be used per booking.
  • All special offer bookings are subject to availability
